A planet is a celestial body that revolves around the sun in fixed orbits. planets do not have any light of their own but reflect the light of the Sun.

planets have other object that orbit them. These are called satellites. the moon is the Earth's satellite. Mercury and Venus or the only two planets without any satellites.
