Community helpers are: doctors, nurses, chefs, bakers, astronauts, soldiers, teachers, dentists, mail carriers, bus drivers, coaches, babysitters, fishermen, plumbers, firefighters, farmers, librarians, and volunteers. Think of all the people in your community who do these jobs.

Teachers and teaching assistants are the most obvious, but you can also seek help from your headteacher or deputy headteacher, office staff, school counsellors, school nurses and school support officers.

Community helpers can be defined as any professionals who aid in the overall well-being and health of the community. Think more broadly than doctors, nurses and police. Community helpers include construction workers, dentists, librarians, grocery store workers, and even teachers.

Students can learn more about the people who help us in school, as well as people who help us in our daily lives, including police officers, bus drivers, doctors, paramedics, vets, firefighters and teachers.
