Basic shapes mainly or composed of plane figures and the solid figures. Plane figures also known as two- dimensional shapes, lie on a single plane having length and breadth.
 

 
 
 Example of plane figures includes squares, rectangle, triangle,circles and quadrilaterals.

Learning shapes not only helps children identify and organized visual information, it helps them learn skills in other curriculum areas including reading, math and science.
